Solar Powered Fashion Meets High Design
We recently had the pleasure of chatting with Sandra Garratt, the design director of Los Angeles-based clothing company Silvr Lining, which combines sustainable and natural materials with renewable energy technology to create a new breed of modern clothing. Silvr Lining’s three collections feature modern, tech-based approaches to fashion while retaining the traditional ideas of form and function, and pay particular attention to the ethics and ecological consciousness of the materials used.
Smart Grid To Get A Big Test In Denmark
Beginning next year and running for four years, some 2,000 residents and business on the Danish island of Bornholm will be the subject of an experiment. The goal: To determine how to develop a grid powered by at least 50 percent renewable energy sources, such as wind power, solar energy and biogas.
